Espoon Moottorirata
Ok, so here is the first track of mine that I have sent to any website. It is called Espoon Moottorirata (in eglish:Espoo Motoraceway). It´s located in hilly forests of Espoo only about 20 kilometres from Helsinki city centre. So lets go around the track. You start by blasting down the over 800 metres long and absolutely flat main straight. Then you have to brake hard to turn 1, a tight left hand hairpin what starts to raise at the apex. The best passing spot of the circuit. Then the track continues to raise trough flat out turn 2. The track flattens out after turn 2. It´s very important to get a good line out the turn becouse almost immediately you have to brake to turn 3, a fairly basic 90 degree left hand turn. Then you get to amedium speed straight with a kink in the middle. Then you get to the trickiest part of the track. A fast downhill double left hander. Then the track dives under the bridge. Immediately after the bridge the track starts raising trough a fast left hander of turn 7. Turn 7 opens to a very long and fast right hander of turn 8 what leads you to the club straight and track flatten out again. After the club straight there is turn 9 a pretty tight 90 degree right hander, pretty good passing spot if you get a good run out of turn 8. Then there is turn 10, almost similiar to turn 9 only a little faster. Then after a short straight there are very long and fast right-left-right esses of 11, 12, 13. Then after a medium speed straight with a crest in the middle there is a 100 degree downhill tight right hander. Passing opportunity for those who get a good exit of esses. Then there is a medium speed downhill what flattens in the middle. After the straight is a pretty tricky and long uphill chicane last passing spot of the circuit. Get a good run out of the chicane and blast down the main straight. Here was a lap of 4,4 kilometres long Espoo Motoraceway. Hope you like it.

correction: after 100 degree right hander is a downhill straight what flatten in the middle, not only a downhill, cause it sounds stupid

This is a good one. I like the way that it's a modern, up-to-date facility with interesting elevation changes, and has both a good flow and includes slightly bowed straights. Finland needs a Formula 1 grand prix ever since Hakkinen's first title win. FIA, go ahead and build this. The short loop with the multiple apex corner that begins underneath the crossover and then winds uphill all the way across it is excellent, too.
I highly doubt that you are a newbie to track design. And welcome to the board. |
