I don't hate him, or love him, nor am I a fan (how's that for non-committal? ). The thing that impressed me with that interview, though, was his willingness to admit that his "I'm going to fix it" attitude has got him into a lot of trouble - and that he has learned from it. It's probably been said a hundred times before, but if he can find someone that he can work with (RCR?), he could turn out to be a force to be reckoned with.

I see him and Tony Stewart as parallels. I do think that Tony has more talent, but both are fast and unerring in their desires. However, that same desire can sometimes be a hindrance. it sure has in Robby's career in the past. Neither of these guys are there to make friends and be everyone's buddy, they are their to win and are willing to do just about anything to get what they want. I respect Robby a lot for his ability to drive on and off road, and I wish him the best.

Robby Gordon's problem is his mouth and his inconsistency. He won the last race of the season but failed to qualify for the Atlanta race the week before. He is probably ideal as a third driver at RCR because a third car can be inconsistent but scrape for a win on occasion.

Does anyone feel that the orange colour on his car is too much like Tony's ?

Robby only wishes that he could be as good as Tony. Orange green blue or purple!
I have never been a Robby fan. But I don't hate him either. He's one of those dudes I wrote off. But I have always respected Richard Childress's decisions. IF he thinks that Robby can do something...then let him. It won't be anything different from Mike Spinner- I didn't root for him either. I guess I'm putting him in a "wait & see catagory" The only problem that I have with this interview is that NOTHING was his fault. All the rides he lost wasn't of his doing. A driver in his position should be a tad humble & fess up to some mistakes. He should learn that- It makes him human. More likeable |
