Mont-Tremblant, Cirque du Soleil, Legault

http://www.tsn.ca/auto_racing/news_s...me=auto_racing

I didn't realize that Mont-Tremblant will be promoted by Normand Legault. I guess he's good at it, but it suprises me given the acrimoninous way in which Montreal when down. Recall that Paul Newman was publically calling for Legault's head!

Cirque du Soleil will be a part of the "festival." I have to think that it a good thing in terms of attracting people and creating an event rather than just a race out in the boonies.

Legault's partnership in this is pretty old news, I'm surprised it had not caught your eye before! Perhaps it was never posted here...

Legault has been in on this since at least November (publicly) and realistically since about an hour after the race was announced. He and Lawrence Stroll move in the same circles in Montreal.

I was beginning to wonder about the viability of the race, because there's some underground rumbling (coming via marshal friends) that there's still unresolved NIMBYism. Something like this could really put the pressure on the resistors to stand down.

BTW, I've checked my local source on this, and the underground rumbling has in fact disappeared, and the only holdup now is getting the ameneties done in time.
