SurfaceUnits should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Another Race in Europe in '07?

The Netherlands Champ Car site is reporting on a possible race under consideration in France at the Dijon circuit. To be run on the date after Assen.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dijon-Prenois

Champ Car running in Dijon soon?

But it's all still very early, they only had a couple of meetings. But they are working on it and with having three French drivers and one Swiss driver (Dijon is close to Switzerland), it would make a lot of sense.

Dijon hosted the "Swiss Grand Prix" a couple of times in the 1980s as well (due to thee Swiss ban on motorsport since Le Mans 1955). BTW, has that Swiss ban been lifted yet?

Although Formula One has not returned to Dijon since 1984, the circuit continues to be used today for minor, local races. Also, several Swiss racing series use this circuit, as motor racing is still banned in Switzerland. - WikiPedia

I'm not sure that the whole Europe project will pan out well, but I suppose if they're going to do two races they might as well look at spreading the costs out over three.

Three races in successive weekends would probably be quite cost-effective, especially in a year of new cars. France is an obvious location considering Bourdais' dominance and the lack of a French F1 driver.

Three French drivers and one Swiss. Would make it an excellent event.

Actually that's an excellent point SurfaceUnits. I was going to start my post off by saying "Bourdais, Simone and ....?!?" I completely forgot! Bourdais may be the main draw but Philippe is a very good driver now and Simone looks like he's going to be quiet good. Remember how CC use to be chalk full of Brazilians? Maybe that will happen again, but with French drivers.

I almost wonder if a race in France is a better idea than in the dutch countries? Another thought: We talk about how much it costs to race in Europe. I wonder how those costs compare to that of building a street race?

i hope they go to the silverstone GP track, very good track for fast single seaters and its in the UK, i would love to see champcar come to the UK but NOT brands, its far too slow and short for high downforce, high power cars like champcars, DTM especially on the indy circuit.

one day i would love to see champcar visit silverstone and be able to see these monsters racing, imo champcar is the best singleseater formula in the world, better racing and spectacle than F1

I somehow doubt Bernie would be in Favor of CART visiting Silverstone. Then again, the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit I think would be much more spectacular for CART to run on than the current British GP circuit.
