LowndesFan, your photo's are almost identical to mine !!!!! Same spots on the track !!!! Ha Ha Ha. How big is your lens though ???? When I shoot through the fence at Turn 5 I still get the very blurry lines of the fence in the photo.
Hoffy are you able to shoot over the fence from the pit entry grand stands ???? I didn't think the stand would be high enough !!! If I pull my finger out I'll post some of mine. |

I have back row of pit entry. To shoot over the fence, you have to either shoot to the left or the right. You cannot shoot straight ahead. 300mm also helps (& 10.1MP, which means cropping still gives you decent shots)

Trev, if you look closely at some of mine, you will see some blur on the extremities of the shot, that my friend is steel fence.
I was using 300mm, full zoom. |

Hey Trev, you have some really nice Pans there. Good effort!! (more then I can say with most general media photo's. Ever notice that 90% of these are taken at fast shutter speeds)

Thanks Hoffy, bit sursrised that there arent more people with photos of the utes, they generally create a lot of action and would tend to have some good damage photos!!
Were they a little tamer at Adelaide than what we are used to? |

I have some half decent ones of the utes as well, well as decent as you can get at Clipsal. If any wants to see anymore just post who you would like to see, I mainly have pics of Fujitsu V8's and Utes.

The other thing is to try about half way (I.E., shutter at around 1/250. Just play around). This way you can get a nice frozen image, but get some motion blur on the wheels |

hoffy, i usually take my pictures at roughly 1/500,1/800 and 1/1000 (dont ask how cos i dunno its automatic i think) and some of my photos are still blurred LoL.
But Trev 60 and 90 are too slow for the photos I've noticed because I'd go to take a picture when its 90 and i end up getting half the back end!! ah well I guess practice makes perfect |

100% right. I actually practice (yes, I must be a geek) panning on my slot cars. Obviously, it makes a difference on what lense (or zoom) you use. The longer the lense, the harder it is to keep it level & produce a successful pan.
These 2 are the best efforts I have ever done (& I am proud of the results). & shutter on those? 1/80 Last edited by hoffy; 13 Mar 2007 at 11:31. |
