A Good Looking Diesel?
It's the year of the diesel and they are the favorites come Sunday afternoon. So let's here it, which is the better looking diesel? The Audi R10, or the Peugeot 908?

I like the R10. The details of the R10 look very well intergrated. Like the headlights for example. Plus it's got nicer paint job.

I really dislike the nose, head lights and huge turbo snorkles of the Peugeot, but of course it is a coupe.

To me, the Pug in many ways looks like a Pug. The nose, turbocharger intakes, and the sidepods look weird and not in harmony with the car or eachother. I thought that GTP/closed LMP1s were supposed to look good, like the Bentley Speed 8.
The Audi R10, on the other hand, has everything working in harmony and partly meets(albeit only to a degree) the ACO's request for newer cars to look more like road vehicles. On the R8, the taillights(and to a lesser degree the headlights) looked like those from the TT. The taillights on the R10 mirror those of the new TT and R8 road cars, whilest the head lights use the same LED/Xenon technology that the road going Audis do. |

I don't like the nose of the Audi R10 either. They should have stick to the nice R8 front.

908, because it's a coupe.
In LMP1/LMP2 are better looking cars. I don't like the single seater front of the Audi and Peugeot. Compared to the Bentley the Peugeot isn't looking good (mainly because of the narrow cockpit, single seater front and livery). |

I also prefer the Zytek, Creation, Radical, Acura and Pescarolo over the 2 diesel LMP1s.

I prefer the Audi
the peugeot looks a bit like dr Finklestein, from A Nightmere Before Christmas http://www.mwctoys.com/images/review_nmbc2_1a.jpg |

Though the audi has the nicer paint, the peugeot is beautiful, when we look at the whole. |

I had to go with the R10. Especially after watching it on track during the early laps. That car just looks so elegant. I understand the coupe argument, but I think the Bentley Speed 8 was a better looking coupe in comparison to the 908.

The Bentley was built to different rules.
I think the 908 looks a lot better, but both sound boring. |

Between the two the 908 gets my vote. I agree with the statement about the Bentley coupe looking better, and if the ACO is mandating close tops they should do whatever they can to make them look as close to the Bently style as possible.

Bentley never ever did it for me, crap livery as well. In my opinion, at least.

I liked the bentley a lot, and I think I may have liked the '01/'02 version best. Here I voted for Pug because it's a coupe, though the R8 looked better than the 908.

Personally, I think the pug looks an ambomination of a sportscar.
I thought the cars were supposed to be "two-seater-esque", and there is no way on this planet that the Pug cockpit could possibly accomodate two persons. It's a single-seater with bodywork and a roof, and the driver just off centre. And what was that "keeping prying eyes out of the garage" stuff while they worked on the car at the pitstops - something against the spirit of the rules methinks! In fact the commentators on Motors mentioned the way that the crew brought the engine cover to the doorway and stood there to block the view. Wassup? Car bent as a nine-bob note? Or was Tom Walkinshaw in there somewhere? The Audi, on the otherhand, looks like a LMP1 car. And sounds better. |

No contest - Coupes all the way.
Even so, Audis racers are like their road cars, they get uglier all the time... Virtually every other LMP car is better looking than the R10. Still, Audi win the paint job contest here - I was sure we'd see a really exciting paintjob on the Pugs when they got to Le Mans... Very odd decision... Cheers. |

The 908 is winning? COme on...
The concept was was fantastic, but something was lost in the translation to real model. As they are, the R10 is by far the most beautiful! |
