Australia & NZ Series, late 80s

In compiling a full set of Atlantic/Pacific results for oldracingcars.com I'm really struggling with the late 80s onwards in Australia and NZ. I know this was getting towards the end of the formula, but as the most recent it should, in theory, be the most accessible. But it's not!

Once the Australian GP became an F1 championship race the Atlantic race, previously so important, gets no coverage as a supporting race. I don't even know if it was staged after 1986.

Whilst On Track gives some coverage of the NZ series in the late 80s it's patchy and only tells me about the American entrants.

So, what do we have in terms of results and reports on the AGP support race from 1985 onwards?
What do we have for the 1986 NZ series [both the Global Sports Formula Pacific series which I take to be a replacement for the Gold Star adn the Mita Copiers International series]
and the 86-87 season and beyond [up to 1990 for starters]

Any help much appreciated

Chris

Without checking what I have, I can tell you that Formula Atlantic only supported the AGP in 1985 and 1986. In 1987, the main open-wheeled support category was Formula 2 (a race which, controvesially, was awarded the Gold Star) whilst from 1989 onwards it was Formula Holden, with the fields heavily supplemented by F2 runners. I'm not sure about 1988, but it was probably F2 or FFord.

I defintely know that Australian Auto Action carried reports on the NZ series, as did Racing Car News (I'll have a look later, but I'm pretty sure it has full results for the 1990 series).

I have Australian Motor Racing Year 1986/87 which covers the Australian Driver's Championship. I am a bit busy ATM, but could probably whip them up into Excel format over the next couple of weeks. (It's the middle of school holidays and I'm hope with 2 energetic boys)
Just to make sure we're talking about the same thing, (as I wasn't really following them back then) the book refers to them as Formula Mondial, but I assume that is yet another name for Atlantic/Pacific.

Piglos

Atlantic/Pacific/Mondial... often the difference is simply the size of the valves or type of head permitted in the BD engine.
AMSYB for 87 would be very useful and many thanks for the offer. I think that Bryan Miller is sending me photocopies of 86 even now. Photocopies are better than a spreadsheet because often teh race report will tell me something about car identities, even when chassis numbers aren't noted. Hopefully photocopying's easier for you than spending evenings doing transcriptions!

You're right, I could scan which would be much easier. My Yearbook covers the 86 season which apparently Brian Miller is sending to you.

Are these photocopies from the same annual?

I also have the AMSYB 87/88 that covers 1987, and there is no mention of the category, I assume that Formula Mondial wasn't run in '87.

Nope, '86 was the last year we ran Mondial in Australia.

Chris, RCN does have reports from the 1990 series, but it only has top 10 results. Want me to scan them for you?

I just found that I have some information on 1985 ANF1 from Raceyear if that is helpful.

1986 Australian season arrived from Bryan this morning. However, would value race reports and results from other journals such as Raceyear as AMSYB doesn't always give full results.

Would like RCN reports from 1990 just to get the series started.
