Ecurie Belge Colours

Belgium's national racing colour is yellow, but does it vary much in shade? There are many British Racing Greens, but is there a standard Belgium Racing Yellow?

My first thoughts are with the D-Type that Ecurie Belge ran and initial research on this has been hindered by many of the photographs being in black and white! However I know there are quite a few Belgiums on 10-10ths and I was hoping to tap into their experience.

Errr, I think there is only one yellow as the national racing colour. The Ecurie Francorchamps cars were in the proper yellow, will try to find some pictures whenever I find the time.

It is sort of like the yellow in the 10-10ths logo.

Only one Belgium? Try living here then.

I don't know about the colour: there isn't as much scope for variations on yellow compared to green.
But while we are looking at Belgian things, can anybody clarify the difference between Ecurie Belge, Ecurie Nationale Belge, and Equipe National Belge? I believe thay were all related and the team morphed from one name into another but i believe there's more of a story behind it..

Always a proper yellow then, rather than a light pastel type thing. Cool.

I'm still struggling to find a non B&W picture of a Yellow D-Type!

http://www.forix.com/8w/enb.html

Scroll a little bit down and they write about the Ecurie Belge and Francorchamps. Scroll down half way and click on "lively yellow" for the proper colour.
Google gives more then enough pictures of yellow cars if you enter Ecurie Francorchamps, but not always in the proper yellow.

Search for "Ecurie Francorchamps", that'll do it. Thanks.

I have a book with a colour picture of the ENB (Emeryson F1 modified with Sharknose type body) on the cover and that is a pastel type yellow.
Of course colour reproduction, especially in older books, is variable but I think it is quite likely this wasn't the usual proper yellow.

As for the correct shade I would think that the yellow from the national flag is the colour they aimed for.
