Is it not that the National Sanctioning body for a race meeting, if it is a member of the FIA, must have all the races in turn sanctioned by the FIA?

If that is so you can't "keep the FIA out of it". I believe the FIA chmpionships are so called because the FIA award the title and trophies/prizes, FIA F1, FIA World Rally, FIA GT etc

Can rules specialists please clarify the situation for me?
As i said in another thread, they are the all mighty, all seeing etc. Like the mysterons. Or is it just me?

So when we talk about the rules for the FIA Championship they are written by SRO, not by the FIA. SRO then gets sanction for his Championship series from the FIA.

In that case who works with Mr Ratel to provide rules such as the one we object to, the two pit stop rule? Is it all "in house" or does he have a group that includes some entrants and sponsors for instance? Who has to be convinced to get this rule withdrawn and can that only be done at the end of the season?

Any change to the two pit stops rule would have to be sanctioned by the full FIA World Council

Let's go have a word, the format is crap.

Let's have three hours back, and who cares how many pitstops!

Almost demonstration races.....then maybe in further years they could run the full 1000km races.
Agreed, 100% !

The LMS should have a mix of maybe 4-6 endurance style 1000kms or more.
Then 2-3 sprint style races along other tracks to see the cars at more over full chat when reliability is less of an issue!
