The other notable thing here is the Penske cars well down the grid with Hornish in 7th and Castroneves way back in 13. What’s up with that? |

Summer's here, why not. However, in my case, a blinking midnight ice cream.

Okay, so there was some crazy stuff in that race! Jeez, I think the pressure has gotten to Dario and it's only going to get worse after that performance.
Great work by Dixon and his pit-crew to get ahead on the second-last run and hold the bottom line for lap after lap with Dario all over him. Dario was cleary much faster but seemed to get frustrated and lost his groove. Only got worse for him after that. Some really bad mistakes. Dominant race by TK though, and now he's a realistic shot again with a big question mark on Dario's psych and Dixon seemingly falling a little bit off ultimate pace. I think all 3 contenders will be happy to get back to some road courses though. |

Why is there a big question mark on Dario's psyche?
He was up front all day until he had a push up the track and then had some really horrid breaks that ruined his day. All that after his Michigan shunt last week. He is clearly a mental fruitcake. |

Gosh, you can't say anything around here without it being blown to the extreme.
I think when Dario lost all that ground to Scott he must have started to feel the pressure of the championship. The fact he got the push wa because he was pushing so hard to get by. Running into the cone on pit entry? That is NOT the kind of thing Dario does. Not slowing down after the checkered flag? That just defies belief. Two flips in a row? His point's advantage dwindling away? You're going to try and tell me he's not going to be affected? Last edited by deejay; 12 Aug 2007 at 01:36. |

And just to back me up from the man himself.
"I've got to apologize to Matsuura, and to my teammates for the way I drove today." Dario. http://motorsport.com/news/article.asp?ID=264958&FS=IRL |

I didn't get to see the end but heard that he had conserved fuel, was off pit strategy with the others and ended up leading only to be caught and passed by TK & SD.
Very good result for him all the same. It bet it will do wonders for his confidence. |

Lol moving up on the race track due to pressure? No IMO. He was just not getting to close to him because of what happened last week and 2 Dixon was staying low the whole time because he was slow and the packs behind caught him as also Kanaan pulled away and he moved up in the corners forcing Dario wide.
But it wasn't a good race by Dario. Apparently the general rule on ovals is not lift off until out of the first turn. Kosuke did this instantly and to make matters worse Dario didn't see the checkered flag. It was very scary to see him up side down again. Dario this time apart from being annoyed with himself looked shaken this time and I expect after these big shunts, he's no longer young, he's won Indy and if he wins the championship he'll retire IMHO. |

I thought Dario was far too hard on himself. He's had such a good year and this was really his first errors.
Why he is taking the entire blame for what happened after the race is beyond belief. Whilst Dario missed the chequered flag, the way Matsuura lifted off was both extreme and badly judged. Why slow down like that immediately? |

Just seen the repeat on Sky. Unlucky Wheldon and phew, Franchitti, that was scary. A circuit race up next so that'll help him psychologically.
Wherever you lay the blame, that's got to be scary for Matsuura too. At least everyone's ok. |
