"He will step up from contesting the 2007 Renault Clio Cup and the MSA British Rallycross Championship, which he currently leads overall with two rounds remaining"

I think the keywords are 'step up from'.

It was always pretty obvious this was going to happen. It is a real shame Andrew isn't concentrating on European Rallycross as the championship is so strong and Andrew is really beginning to show some good speed.

Thats bad news for rallycross to loose such a young tallent, but brilliant news for Andrew.I'm sure he will shine and cause upset with the old skool drivers.

Best wishes to Andrew and Mike for 2008

Now we need a sweep as to when Andrew is going to win his first race........

I think 1st race at the 2nd meeting of the year

Good luck to Andrew - he's a top ambassador for the sport and a very talented driver.

However... I'm not sure I would do the same. The BTCC is my least favourite race series. The driving standards are terrible. If I want to watch banger racing I'll go to Brandon or Belle Viue. It makes sense if he ultimately wants to get into international tin tops or sports cars but if he'd stayed in rallycross he had the talent (and probably the financial backing) to be competing at the top of the ERC in a couple of years.

Well in terms of Career progression you would have to go BTCC then WTCC possibly, then you can finance your ERxC no problem.

Looks like the Rustad story... Too bad if he leaves... No new "Will Gollop" replacement to challenge the ERC and bring back the crown to the UK!

I don't see the point in driving any atmo car, if you can drive a 4wd 500 bhp+ powerhouse...

Will Gollop has never said he has retired so perhaps the man himself will return

Bad news for European rallycross I think. Andrew Jordan with the coaching of Will Gollop and his team would have a great chance to end the Scandinavian winning streak of the ERC in a year or two or three! He and Tommy Rustad have the same raw talent for driving any car I think! I hope Andrew one day will come back to Rallycross!

Not sure about comparing Kordan to Rustad, Tommy was instantly quick when he came in, and was driving a very difficult to drive car, and when he came back for the odd appearance he was almost always on the pace!

Jordans opposition over here is hardly European level and as we have seen from the majority of our dirvers into Europe, its a level up!!

Don't forget that he has also made some good performances in the bearpit that is the Clio cup. I can see him doing great things in the BTCC - who would bet against a race win at Thruxton?
