Valentino Rossi in an Audi?
I just noticed the paragraph at the end of this article saying that Dindo Capello has offered Valentino Rossi the chance to try out his Audi. Whilst there is probably nothing to it could it be that he is interested in racing sportscars after his career in MotoGP?
It would make great publicity for Sportscars. http://www.autosport.com/news/grapevine.php/id/64116 |

I think Rossi is referring to the Audi RS4 in the Italian Superstars championship. Not really a sportscar.

he wouldn't race an Audi; they are polar opposites.

As a road car, many people have many good things to say about the RS4. One of the best road cars in the world? I wouldn't say so, but I'm sure a few would.
It isn't perfect: http://driving.timesonline.co.uk/tol...icle647458.ece However, I hope he is talking about the R10! |

It seems likely that Rossi will retire from Moto GP in the next year or two and it also seems likely to me that he wants some sort of new challenge in Motorsport. I think probably the time has past for him to seriously attempt F1 therefore what are the options?
Rallying is one that he has a clear interest in but in circuit racing it really leaves Sportscars or touring cars. It will be interesting to see what happens in the future. I also considered the comment about the best cars in the world being said in an interview connected to F1 is far more likely to refer to the R10 than an RS4 however I assumed that some people had greater inside knowledge than I did. |

He would race whatever gave him the best chance to do that. I don't see him trolling around the back of the pack in an old Zytek just for the the crac. |
