Pretty horrific, huh? "The Peugeot 909 by Fabcar".

I really like both, but based upon this proposed rule I'm voting for the open top cars.

Oh horror! Are these airheads at the ACO really gonna follow them idiotic fabcar windowwidth and roofheight rules?! What has come in to these people? Do they wanna scare fans away? Are they getting complacend like the F1 mob?
Maximum noise levels,no more wheelspin in the pitlane,an environmentalistprice for the cleanest car, moving the public ever further away from the track...who's running this gig nowadays? The french greenyparty?

For me, open cars will always be tainted with the WSC curse.

WSC's were the open replacement for Group C/IMSA GTP, all bar a handful looked awful, and were much slower than the cars they'd replaced.

IMO the Zytek/Creation was the first truly beautiful open car of the current era, but how much better looking would it be with a roof!

It was pointed out in the EI article the photoshop of the 908 was not a true reflection of the final cars.

The new cars have a minimum width at the base of the cockpit around 30cm greater than the 908, but the actual coupe roof can be any shape the designer wishes, i.e. a squarish shape like the Mercedes CLR/911 GT1 98, or a dome shape like the Toyota GT-ONE/Bentley Speed 8. The other stipulation is a maximum cockpit volume which would make the rear cockpit resemble a Mercedes C9 or 962, rather than the very short teardrop shape of the 3.5l Group C cars such as the 905.

The 908 cockpit is exceptionally narrow, nothing comes close to it in the Group C or GT1 era bar the 3.5l 905.

The ACO have made clear that they want to avoid the DP look, the max with refers to the base of the canopy. Expect the cars to resemble the late 90s GTPs like the Toyota GTone, Merc CLR. The ACO has also said that the Maserati MC12 is the kind of style the new cars will have.

The photoshop on enduranceinfo is misleading and distorted by the single seater nose (which will be eliminated by the new rules).

Not just that, they stretched the top and bottom of the cockpit, but only the bottom part has to be a minimum width.
