Waterbeach, Cambs?
Hi All,
Does anybody have any experience of this circuit? I have an event there next month, and its just occurred to me that I've no idea what to expect. Its only my second sprint so I'm still a touch on the nervous side I've looked in the wiki and had a search on here, general internet searches and even a look for video's on youtube with no luck. I will be the first to admit I'm an IT numbty though, so I've probarly missed something really obvious. Any pointers or info would be great, cheers. I think it could be an airfield track by the way. PS I have already posted this in hillclimbs/sprints section, but as the sprint events I am going to are run by a track day company, not the MSA, then I thought maybe this circuit is a track day venue more than a sprinting one. Mods please feel free to delete if I've done something wrong- apologies, I'm new |

In the same boat as you Dan, have my second ever sprint and the first at that venue next month.
Any information would be gratefully received from me too. |

Ex airfield, more recently used as an army base for engineering reg. Located between Cambridge and Ely. Never used it as a circuit so cannot really comment on the layout.

I will be there in my trusty ST202 Dan, did I see you at Barkston?
If Barry, the formula ford guru knows very little of the place then it can't be that challenging! |

I live in Waterbeach , it is an old airfield and it is still the home of the 39 Engineer Regiment ( who specialise in runway repairs ! ) The runway has to be able to take landings . Don't know which part of the airfield the time trials are on - there are some nice smooth bits . I know the sprint bikes used to use it - might be worth trying there websites .
Regards AL. |
