Are the drivers getting soft?

After the biffo on the weekend i cant help but wonder how todays drivers would have gone in the early years, 60's.70's.80's. now before i go any further im not saying anyone should be allowed to smash someone off the road.!!

However it is getting to the point where it seems that in future years you wont be allowed to even touch someone. Now come on this is a sport with 1 ton cars doing up to 300klm an hour an inch away from eachother. all this stuff about being at the B pillar and did he not give way, really is this the way to go? i dont remember seeing Brock, Moffat or Grice caring to much, if there was a gap go for it!!!

so lets have some thoughts.

It's dissapointing that they can hide behind the rules.

Watching the NASCAR, and yes, it can get out of hand. But they have no rules to hide behind so they have to race for keeps. They can't leave a massive gap at the apex and go "Well he couldn't get past my B-piller." You either leave a gap, or you don't. Simple.

i think its more that with the relaxation of freedom of speech regulations, drivers now have a convenient way of turning the attention away from their own inadequacies and putting the blame on others, and the public consider it as gospel even when any viewer with the decent "Mental Capacity" can see what really happened

I hope Paul Morris is reading this, after another typical weekend from him.

Morris. Nuff said.

Why wasnt he well ahead of the "Little Kiddies" that reversed into him on Saturday?

Alternatively, why can't he pull off decent passes on backmarkers when Ingall was executing clean passes on drivers 10-15 places up the road?

More importantly i hope one Gregory Murphy and one Jeffrey Grech are reading this as that is who it was aimed at.

Personally, I'm still completely shocked about the 'drama' on Sat when JW passed MW...

He left a (tiny) gap, a little unsettled, JW goes through the gap, a little rubbing, thats it.... IT'S CALLED RACING!!!!

30 years ago, it was (in many cases) the driver's own money invested into the car, and if something broke it was the driver's own money that fixed it.

Now it's not their money (in most cases), but rather their teams' cash.

I know I'd be much more responsible with my own money than someone else's...
