WTCC: Oschersleben test days 6-7/5
Rob Huff tops the first day, Tarquini second and Thompson showing a strong form in third with his Honda.
Lada present, but five seconds off. "We only got a couple of laps. Something in the engine broke and currently we have only got one car to run. This is our last test before the race at Valencia and we really need the track time," said Shapovalov. Full report from the test: http://www.touringcartimes.com/news.php?id=2263 |

I still can't believe I'm seeing a Lada in the WTCC (actually out on the track). I'm not being negative it just seems strange in a small way but good luck to them.

Those times of Lagen easily puts him at the front fight of the Independents. GREAT to see
Guess my vote on "will score a few point this season" will likely come through |

It looks like they are getting better - JVL beat Tiago Monterio in that session. I think the Ladas will be a serious pain in the arse for the BMWs, SEATs and Chevys at some point ...

What the...? Those LADA's are cheeky, I really hope they can suprise from the back of the grid. But points? No, at least not this year.

I think they might be serious challengers in the independent's trophy if they can keep up the progress, but at least good enough to beat Okyay, Romanov and the Golden Motors guys.

If Jaap van Lagen was also 1.2 sec slower than the first guy in Curitiba he would be 2nd of the Independents and he only let Corthals in front of him. Shapovalov would keep 2 cars behind him. Puebla is a bit longer circuit zo make 1.2 in 1.5. Than Jaap van Lagen would be 1st Independent. And Shapovalov (2.5 into 3.0) would keep 5 Beamers behind him (Engstler, Tielemans D'Aste, Romanov en Okyay). But I think we better can wait on the rusults in Valancia. Last year the first 19 cars were in a sec in quali. |

Hmm, interesting to see the Lada's reasonably close to the front running pace. Good to have them in the WTCC the series needed another manufacturer since Alfa Romeo's departure.
