Ok - found the magazines (had more with rs200 stuff in than I thought )

Both Knuttels car and the Mach 2 car were built by Graham Hathaway - the Mach 2 car is essentially an evolution of Knuttels car modified to suit the demands of Pikes Peak. Power outputs for these 2, Dorans rallycross example and Julian Godfreys road car are:

CarPowerMagazines
Dieter Knuttel680bhpCCC Aug 98
Mach2 Racing850bhpCCC Aug 98, CCC May 03, TRC Feb 04
Pat Doran750bhpPerformance Ford Apr 03
Julian godfrey600Performance Ford Apr 03

Obviously power figures were correct at time of press but may have changed since then!

There's also a really good article about the design process for the RS200 in CCC from Jan 85 Worth digging out! I shall now spend the rest of the evening reading....

The first time I saw Schanche was in Mondello ERC in 1988 (not sure why he was not at the first Mondello ERC in 87) and he flew in straight after his last stint in LeMans which was on the same weekend. I remember him arriving by helicopter to the circuit. Pure legend. I had never seen a car at such crazy angles before (or since). In his first heat he was all over the place and was convinced there were handling problems with the car - he was still second quickest though.

p.s. this was also the same day Ireland beat England in Euro 88...

In early 1987 Schanche had lots of problems with his RS200 and was also very busy with his Group C2 World Championship project. The first Mondello ERC round clashed with the Group C round at the German Norisring (Nürnberg) and therefore, Martin dropped Ireland. In 1988 Schanche drove his Argo for nearly 8 hours at Le Mans and then flew from Le Mans to Dublin by private plane and to Mondello by helicopter. He arrived with puffy eyes just in time for the last practice session – and eventually became runner-up to Matti Alamäki that afternoon.
