kmchow should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Meanwhile, in the '99 or'00 South American series, the Dodge Stratus became the Chrysler Cirrus with just minor grill/bumper changes. That was interesting. So you can argue, not only the Dodge Stratus raced, but the Chrysler Cirrus raced as well!

Oh yeah, in Mexico, there is also a crazy 220hp 2.4L Turbocharged version of the Dodge Stratus! Too bad that car never appeared in NA!!! The engine has recently been transplanted into the smaller Chrysler Neon. It will retail for 20K US in 2003!!! Dodge is hoping it will be the fastest sedan under 30K!!

Yes, the Audi and Alfa are both 2l Super Tourers...

PS, has anybody ever told you there is a quote function on the forum?

The Alfa and Audi are 2.0, and are both available as R/C. I had a Tamiya Audi A4 in the Biela BTCC colours.

Another Q.

I know of an R/C Chrysler 300M, but did Chrysler ever race one of these? Was it the Stratus replacement?

Did you mean this quote function touringlegend???
My question probably wasn't phrased well enough. So you mean in order a RC ST model to be built, there must have been a 2L ST equivalent or do you mean a 2L ROAD equivalent of the car?

>I know of an R/C Chrysler 300M, but did Chrysler ever race >one of these? Was it the Stratus replacement?

No, the 300M was positioned totally different in terms of market position. It was positioned as one of those entry level luxury sport sedans. There was a separate brand new 2nd generation Stratus launched in '01, but as with everything, I like the 1st generation better. It was smaller and looked sportier to me.

Rumor did have Chrysler building a ST version of the Neon. Of course, that was back in '96/'97, when it looked like ST could have possibly even have overtaken F1 in popularity!!

Ah, yes to produce a RC model it must be based on a Super Touring 2 litre race car.

So whats the full list of cars allowable? I currently use the 300M, looks very good, and it's nice androunded at the front. Hobson you should of known the Stratos is fine, it's used by so many racers, since it is aparently so very stable. I wouldn't bother with those old paint schemes, they look a little ugly to me. I'm thinking of getting another new body too, I seem to damadge them very quickly at my local club.

I didn't know what the real Stratus looked like.

2 litre Alfa 156's are available in Europe. Not sure if Audi built a 2 litre A4.

That's my beef with all those RC cars, at first glance, they look like the real ST cars, but upon closer inspection, I find the cars look too wide and look like they've been squashed. The cars look more WRC than ST. OTOH, even the ST cars have morphed into WRC cars starting from the '00 year.

Part of the back bumper is even cut away, I think this is to allow the airflow get under the car and out the back easier.

They have to change the shape so that it fits the car. For a start the wheels are too large so wheel arches are as large as they can be on most cars, then they have to change the wheel base length and width to fit the standard chassis. If you want a really bad version of a normal road car, look at those american funny car dragsters.

Those bodies are all HPI Racing. They usually produce quite detailed shells, but look at these!

These are the race bodies made by Protoform. They are rarely realistic as you can see.

Have you got any pictures of other Stratus ? I've made 96'NATCC and 2k'STCC Stratus skins for Toca 2 (download on http://www.toca2.fr.st) but I would like to create other skins.

Olivier Beretta has made test on Paul Ricard track (France) at the beginning of 1998 for The Team Oreca (the idea was to use it in 1999 in BTCC or STW).

8) Sam 8)

Sorry for my english, I'm french !

Sam, would you like real or fake Stratuses? I can find a lot more R/C versions, and some have quite good paintjobs.

If the paint is real, but the model is a R/C version of a car which has existed, no problem !

Ah, theres a problem. I don't know which paintjobs are real or not. I know the Stratus on the first page (the first pic) is a real paint scheme. If you need more pics, I'll try to find them.
