Race Commentators - Where are they now?

He did, called the AMSCAR Series for Channel 7 in 1997, was a pit reporter at Bathurst in 1997 and 1998, and called Super Touring 500 meeting at Bathurst in 1999.

He's been involved in Speedway commentary for years, and called GP bikes on Optusvision in 1996.

He was involved with the South Sydney league team for sometime after they returned to the NRL, these days he can be heard in Speedway commentary on Foxtel (shows like Chequered Flag).


There was another newbie member of the 1990 Bathurst 1000 commentary team, Maurice Phillips(?) was the name from memory??

He is very busy writing and publishing the greatest magazine ever produced, Australian Muscle Car.

What about Adrian Ryan, was from Vic. as far as I remember and used to come up to Oran Park to do commmentry.

He did alot of stuff for the ABC at Sandown as well, i think i recall hearing him doing course commentary at the Tasman Revival in 2006.

What about some of his counterparts at the ABC at the time, like Bob Morrow? Max Stahl was part of the team to, of course these days he's editing the AMC mag.

Mike Raymond was the best, no doubt about that. I used to like his adverts for Liverpool Speedway "Frank Olivari's left hand turn freeway" or "The place of Pace" all good good stuff and very original. He was closely followed by the New Zealander ex bike rider Graeme Crosby who did some in car commentary during the touring car series, it is a pity he did not continue behind the camera when he stopped racing.
