Tim Harvey
Any ideas where Tim Harvey might end up now that JSM have dipped out the series ? I have heard he will return to the BTCC next year full time - will it be with GR, VLR or someone else ?

I think VLRs a safe bet. He and Vic go back a long way.

That's what I thought. But he does know the Alfa rather well too. Mind you, maybe that's another point in Vic's favour!

Three names I've heard in connection with the GR Alfa's and unfortunately Tim isn't one. I'd be surprised if those Pugs bothered appearing this year actually.

I reckon with Vic as well but as I can't see the cars doing very well, Tim will feel quite at home

Touringlegend I have to agree. I'll be surprised if they end up racing this year.

I think Tim did quite a bit of management last year - so he could follow that up?!

GR will be looking for paying drivers, I can't see Tim wanting to pay for a drive - so the Alfa's are out.
VLR is the most likely as Tim has links with both Vic and Jerry Mahoney through the VIP Club. I would guess that JM will be involved with VLR if they race this year. As I have mentioned in other post's - I feel VLR's entry is funding dependent, which means pay drivers or team sponsors. Last year Pug didn't have any real sponsors as such, so there is not continuity available there. I would guess that VIP's 'sponsorship' was based around discounted rates on corp hospitality for Pug guests as opposed to hard cash. Dan Eaves is unlikely to have a BTC budget - so who will end up paying for it is anybody's guess! |

I won't be surprise if Tim joins the VLR Peugeot team, he will give guidance to Dan Eaves. Tim drove the 405s for a few years.

Yeah Tim at VLR makes sense, it'll be nice to see another of the stars of last season continue, as with no JP, no Soper no Erdos and perhaps no Eaves it's gonna be an even newer look to the driver list in BTC-T than last eyar.

Just a small correction, Tim Harvey drove the Peugeot 406's...I don't think he ever drove the BTCC 405's.

It will be good to see Harvey this year.
Possibly in a Pug. Connections with Vic Lee. |
