Hot off the Press! ERC News

Due to work commitments JMC is forced to miss Norway and Sweden. However Guttorm Lindefjell will join the Motorsportmad.com team for the two events and drive the C4. It will be interesting to see how Dynamite goes in the Citroen

Other news Pat Doran's Fiesta was extensively damaged en route to Norway yesterday when a fire broke out in the trailer. Pat has returned to the UK to get the ex Carnergie Fiesta ready for the Nordic events.

And Maud, the wife of Henning Solberg, was right. Quadruple European RX champion Eivind Opland made an entry for Höljes, with the new Solberg Fiesta. Marcus Grönholm’s entry is in, as promised. Former WRC driver Jani Paasonen has entered a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo and with fellow Finn Martti Simonen (7th overall of the 1990 ERC [Group A 2WD category] with Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth and 5th overall of the 1997 ERC [Group N 4WD category] with Mitsubishi Lancer E3) in the ex-Rustam Minnikhanov 4WD Fiesta there will be an interesting ERC returnee at Höljes.

There's a whole thread dedicated to the Doran fire here:

http://tentenths.com/forum/showthread.php?t=107705

Can we keep all related comments in there please and keep this one for other news

The entry looks good - Lindefjell is a good substitute to call on in the Tracey C4 and I'm really looking forward to seeing how Gronholm gets on. Is this one live on the web anywhere?

That's not the first time there has been issues with that site. I think Evans has vanished into oblivion. There was loads of talk about various ERC events again this season but no sign of him?

The Micra was built in such a way that conversion to rally use was very straightforward as it was viewed as being much more saleable when the time came.

I was really pleased to see that a deal has been put together to give Ash Simpson a chance to compete at an ERC event.
Ash is probably the most talented young driver in British rallycross, and in the right car would be almost unbeatable. I don't know how competitive the PSM Megane will be against the Current Division 2 machinery, but one thing is certain Ash will squeeze every last little bit out of it.

Good Luck Ash

As far as I know it now belongs to Davy Aiken, who uses it for the odd sprint/hillclimb, also seen it used as the '00' car on a few rallies.
