All good points and very well made as usual. I hesitate to do this, but I think you'll find that Benneton are actually now registered as an Italian team although their manufacturing base is still in the UK. I think the whole point about this is not the location of the team per se. Its more the fact that the British motor sports fan prefers the racing and competition to the nationality of the team or driver. Brits are just as passionate about racing as the Tifosi are passionate about Ferrari. You only need to look at the Brit contingent at Le Mans each year to see this point. |
