Hector Rebaque - Dead or Alive?
Just noticed on the home page under the 'on this day' section that Hector Rebaque died on this day in 2000, however I have taken this extract from oldracingcars.com
'Now a businessman and involved in architecture. Retired from driving in CART in 1985, but made a recent and rare appearance at a CART event in 2002, at Elkhart Lake, to mark the 20th anniversary of his only CART win.' Am I missing something here or is he dead or alive? Thanks |

Maybe his father? I think he put Pemex sponsorship his son's way.

Can't find anything to suggest he's not alive.

Hector sometimes raced as Hector Rebaque Jr so the Mr Rebaque that died is probably Hector's father... or something...

As I am responsible for adding that information , I have looked into this and I am unable to locate anything on the fact that Hector Rebaque has passed away.
I am unsure when or why I added this and may have had some miss information which can quite easilly happen on the internet as we all know. But I do apologise (especially to Hector himself) and have removed the entry in question and wish him a long and healthy life Apologies Marcus. |

I just saw a picture of him from the 2002 cart race at Road America. He was at least alive up to that point.

He wouldn't have died in a racing car, because he never went fast enough to hurt himself..
