Here's my theory .

As Charouz didnt deny or confirm their supply of TDI engines , why not confirm or deny ?

I reckon on a Audi V8 FSI in a Lola for them ..... or DBR9 for Le Mans . Cant think of anything else .

In the 730d you can get a 6 cylinders 3.0L Diesel!?
Got around 245hp!, but BMW has never been know for its diesel power!

But the X3 CC (The Dakar Rally car) has a Twin Turbo 2,9L (3L) Diesel Engine

They were one of the pioneers of the recent trend for diesels in racing- remember the 320 diesels at the 'Ring 24 hours back in the late 90's...
http://www.jannousiainen.net/hobbies...t_center_1.JPG
They don't seem so keen on racing diesels these days though- didn't they test an S2000 diesel for the WTCC last year and opted not to race it?

Because they don't want to, basically. They want to race petrol cars. They developed the Diesel as a contigency in case the rules weren't adjusted for greater equality between diesel and petrol. They were, so we probably won't see it.

Back to some sort of topic.
Could a Jaguar engine be transformed into a successful Lmp1 engine, which could go on after 2011?

Biggest Jag roadcar engine is the 5 litre V8 in the XF. Such a shame they dropped the wailing 7 litre V12!

That was a lovely sound . Remember its last appearance , Wollek-Fabi-Acheson car , it had a cracked exhaust manifold towards dawn , and a slight grumble to it ..... never to be heard again , shame .

no, no and no.......the future is down sized engines........ the main reason is to follow what the road car scene is doing, which is down sized engines.......big capacity V8's and V12's will not be welcome in an LMP car from 2011 and onwards........Jaguar have screwed up big time with this 5.0 supercharged engine.......its not what the market requirs at this point in time.
