Newbie looking for advice please - noise of exhaust
Hi All
First can I say I know nothing about cars or racing and this is a bit of an odd posting..but I hope you guys can help please! let me explain ... I have a friend / housemate has been preparing his car for track days etc ....done a lot of work ..engines turbos roll cages the lot ...and it looks great. Problem is ...the exhaust noise- deep burbling and more importantly the vibrations from it are unbeleivable. I'm sure lots of you may say ..excellant ! and I dont want to come down as the killjoy to my housemate but I have two problems ..... 1. As the houseowner I'm worried that damage this vibration is doing, mainly to the windows which although there double glazed are rattling like crazy - when your in the front room until he leaves the drive EVERYTHING shakes! 2. I have had a complaint from my next door neighbour who have young children and I have to do something. So why am I posting to you guys? Do you know if there are any 'mufflers' that he could buy to reduce the noise and vibrations? It occurred to me a lot of you may drive to and from the track / use your car on the road and might have the same issue. I'd like to be able to say to him .."you need to reduce the noise , buy this thing bolt it on when your on the road and take it off when your doing the track days" ...or is it not that simple ? Any advice greatly appreciated. |
