Best GT2/GT Manufacturer of the '00s at Le Mans?
Well, what do you think is the best GT2/GT manufacturer? I think recently, Porsche have'nt done as well as in the past so Ferrari gets my vote.

Not really a Fiat fan but the 430 has been a breath of fresh air to a class dominated for so long by porsche.

Ferrari, for providing Porsche with some competition and winning.

I've always had a soft spot for Ferrari since 1965 when Maston Gregory and Jochen Rindt stuck it to Ford at Le Mans and I have really enjoyed the great results provided by the F430 in recent years, as it had really kicked some Porsche butt. I also enjoyed the Spyker as it is a nice car to look at but just hasn't had any great results (till this year's Le Mans). The Vantage is a beautiful machine but is too new to be the best of the 00s. In the end, I have to agree with Badger, the Porsche wins (and I reluctantly voted for them) as best because the question was for the entire 00s and they started out as the dominant car and have re-established themselves this year as the dominant GT car (although they have taken their lumps in the 12 and 24 hour races) and have won the most GT races of the decade including Le Mans.

I'd like to vote for the Panoz or the TVR, but the sheer volume of results leads me to the inevitable conclusion of picking Porsche.

Even though there has been some inroads, I would have to say Porsche.

Spyker. Considering the budget constraints, they've never disgraced themselves in terms of pace. And they had a very good result at Le Mans this year. And they look the best. And they sound the best. And they're the underdogs. And they're crazy.
Besides, it can't go to Porsche, they have 3819760174109679487 years of development behind them. And I refuse to vote for Ferrari until they have a factory team at Le Mans, Enzo Ferrari would be turning in his grave to find that Ferrari haven't had a good crack at Le Mans in 35 years or so. |

Gotta love the Spyker indeed, and Panoz for outlasting the rest in 2006.
Porsche has only won 1 out of 3 races when they had serious competition (you gotta admit that the 360 was never there). And unlike Corvette who lost to AM twice, Porsche got thrown off the course. Luck or no luck, it's a funny coincidence the Porsches starting falling over when they had to face a tough car. |

Over the 9 years - still has to be Porsche, but the tide has definitely turned in favour of Ferrari.
And the moment this thread turns into another Porsche v. Ferrari thread it gets closed. |

By the way, what's the BMW in there for - this is in the Le Mans sub-forum (and I've amended the title accordingly).
