It's gonna be interesting to see how the team will be managed under the SORA name. Will Pescarolo still have the reigns or will the new management sponsored by SORA want to go down a different road??
We all know how much Pescarolo loves his Pescarolo car but will SORA want to go for the wins, especially if Audi and Peugeot are still around by striking a deal for Peugeot cars? |

I don't know whether they were new tubs. Henri's was the test car though - whether or not that means it was the new-for-'09 test car or they didn't have any old '08 cars either is unclear. Of course the '08 cars took rather a beating and there weren't enough left together in one piece for more than a single PLM entry...

I would suggest to Henri to ask a really competitive engine to the Porsche. In Germany, someone would be interested in this partership...
Pescarolo's chassis is very competitive, as declared by Treluyer who compared it to the Peugeot's one. It's more reactive than the 908's one. He's been really impressed from Pescarolo! With a good engine, a great drivers lineup, the Pescarolo would be extremely competitive! I would be delighted to see a Pescarolo LMP1 on the highest step of the podium in Le Mans! Henri, we all are waiting for you and your wonderful cars! |

If you want to win LMP1 you don't need a diesel, you need a factory supported engine program (like the Peugeot, Audi and P2 Porsche and Acura). Diesel is only better because of the budgets there is going into them!

Good point! That's what I think, too. Not a diesel, but a factory support!

Do you think any factory will start a petrol engine program with the current diesel advantage ? Nobody want to waste their money in a customer team with the current regulation and fight with two works team with diesel engine.

Audi actually tried this experiment a few years back with Swiss Spirit running a Lola with an Audi R8 engine in the back. The car was not a success, lacking reliability and speed compared to the diesels. The car was yanked after 2 races.

Didnt exactly get much track time . No reason why it couldnt have been a decent car with a bit more testing , it had all the quick bits .

The disappearance of the Lola-Audi was a big disappointment of 2007 for me. The car appeared to have a lot of potential - and my understanding was that the pulling of the car had a lot more to do with disagreements within the team running it (such as arguments over who actually owned the car) than it being a performance failure.
Indeed, the failure to make the most of the package can probably be put down to the relative lack of focus among the core team - as Kolles, and others who ran 'private' R8s have shown, Audis are not exactly turnkey race cars and need a very focused team to run them well. For me what a frontline engine could have done in a developed LMP1 chassis is one of the big 'what ifs' of the 06/07 period. Going back a year or so, I'd have seen Pescarolo and Porsche as natural bedfellows - as a driver he had his moments in Porsches (OT - without trekking downstairs to consult Time and Two Seats, did he ever run a 917? Gut feeling says no but always worth a check) and with Collard and Dumas on the driving squad there was the extant link. Now obviously with the Peugeot rapprochement and the internal politics at Porsche/VAG (when do we start calling them Auto Union?) I think the possibility has receded a bit - which is a shame. |

The worst thing with this debate around Diesel vs. Engine performance is, that we are going to have it once again when Hybrids and electric vehicles are starting to enter! |

Olivier Quesnel told in today's L'Equipe mag that Peugeot-Sport wants to "give" a 908 again to Pescarolo-Sport in 2010 to run Le Mans but also the LMS !!!

really good news. Even if Peugeot doesn't race LMS officially, their car could win it anyways. Could mean 2 Pescarolos all season since I'm guessing Peugeot would be supporting the car and Pescarolo could still have their own chassis running.

I presume this means that the Team is Pescarolo , and not the company that bought the old Pescarolo team ? Sorga or something like that .

Just heard on RLM that L'Equipe also reported Peugeot apparently sending Pescarolo a 300000€ bill for the damage to the Le Mans car - is that true?

It's also on DSC, Peugeot has send the bill for the car that crashed at LM this year to Pescarolo. And pescarolo did not insure the car for the race, (apparantly, reading DSC correctly, they never do) so they have to pay the bill themselves.

Hmm, thats not exactly how it comes across from DSC to me. The way it seems to me (from DSC) is they may want/let Henri run one, but if it happens, they require that it will not be for just Le Mans. L.P. |
