Thanks! Besides,it's appeared to be that presentations and road shows became fashionable among series that have few race weekends in calendar.

Results Superstars Imola Race 1&2
16 cars on the gird, which is an improvement over last year and some new winners! A lot more variety this year as well, even though the Audis are gone. Also some Campionato Italiano Tourismo Endurance-results from Imola: Race 1 Division 1 Race 1 Division 2 Unfortunately there seem to be only class results for Div.2 and no overall race results. Race 2 Division 1 Race 2 Division 2 And the best: Videos! (Click on "Videos" in the navigation bar ) Just watching the First Division 1 race and the video seems to cover the race in full length! So if you speak Italian or you don't mind understanding nothing at all (like me), you can eaily waste your afternoon with that! |

16 cars is a big improvement.
A shame the Audi's aren't taken over by a private team. |

Looks like the Audis moved to CITE. Had some good fights with the BMWs in race 1, but alas too many off-track moments.
But between Colciago's Seat TFSI and the Audi RS4s the Bimmers in CITE are beginning to feel the heat. The videos are definitely worth a look. |

You are probably right about the Audis moving to cite.

Pierre-Yves Corthals, Jordi Gené and Jacques Villeneuve will drive a SEAT Leon Supercopa - SEAT Belgium- in 12 hours of Spa, one of the BTC Series races.

Probably by far the most impressive driver-line up ever in that race. I wonder how often an F1-world champion has driven in the BTCS. I guess none have so far.

Long time since the last update, and I wanted to write a lot more in this thread, but I had a pretty tough year at university, so my apologies for that.
Anyway: Anyone read todays piece on touringcartimes.com about Proteam thinking about going racing in Superstars next year? Seems like the series' popularity exploded during the summer and has now up to 20 cars at some rounds!! Looks like those who thought that the series would be a perennial failure (including myself) were wrong! |

Some day there always had to be a high profile Italian touringcarserie. I guess the Superstarsserie is the one. It is a shame for non-Italian racefans offcourse, since Italy's best touringcardrivers where sort of forced to drive in international series that can be followed by us more easily, such as the wtcc.
Anyway, good luck pro-team with wichever series you will do next year. |

Except for 1 or 2 races I didn't see any coverage of Superstars this year. The cars are to slow and the series needs more cars.

As I wrote, they seem to be on a good way as far as the number of cars on the grid goes, with 19 or 20 cars in more than one round this year and other teams looking at joining the series next year.

Cars and drivers perfomance is too different. 10 seconds between first and last car on grid in Mugello. On long and wide tracks like Mugello and Portimao it is a poor show - you cant see more than two-tree cars together. But on tight tracks like Magione they look well. Key of the race is tyre. Frontrunners - famous teams like Zakspeed and ROAL with Morbidelli and Martini, but most of participants are old gentlemen-drivers with slow cars. Perfect road going cars racing.National level.
