She has been fairly consistent this year- much more patient in letting the race come to her.
That said, she rarely qualifies near the front, nor a threat to win (much less lead) the race. She has been the leader for only 26 laps (24 at Iowa and 2 at Kentucky). In contrast, Will Power has led 135 laps in 3 races including a dominating win at Edmonton. And all as a part time driver. I remember when Tiger Woods turned pro. He came to the tour having had a stellar amateur career and received a lot of attention because of the color of his skin. Many of the tour pros resented him because they thought the attention (and lucrative endorsements) were disproportionate to his professional accomplishments (which was at the time zero). Danica Patrick came to the IRL in much the same way- she got a lot of attention that other rookies do not normally get. She was female, had a fairly notable career up to then, attracted sponsorship dollars, and would drive for a competitive team. Today Tiger Woods still creates a lot of buzz and has the respect of his peers and adulation of the fans because he has backed up the initial hype. Danica Patrick has not but still receives more attention than other drivers with better records. |

Danica's junior career was useless.
She didn't manage a single race victory. Even Yuji Ide managed to win some races in his junior career. |

I rate it as a fine effort that has allowed her to finish consistently this year and gain points. But she has not qualified well nor has she run at front. Yet she continues to get more air time than other drivers who have (e.g., Wilson and Rahal).
Once again, I believe she would have less detractors if her record was proportional to the attention she receives. |

She is doing a solid job in a mediocre championship.

I've seen all those "lips sealed" on AGR stories. Bruce Martin is as close as anybody to people in the series. Penske and Ganassi don't name their drivers until after the season and AGR doesn't either, and that's probably what's happening. She can't talk about her AGR deal but she CAN talk about wanting to do some NASCAR stuff in between, to be determined. Keep your fairy tale going as desired, though.

Panties ain't bunched........and I don't see an "partiality" between VS. and the IRL. What would Versus have to gain by fibbing in the IRL's favor besides making both look bad?

It's in Versus best interest to make the IRL look good- any news gets the positive spin. If Danica Patrick leaves and the IRL takes a big hit- don't you think Versus is still in a good position having to promote the IRL and pay $6 million a year?
