Relative F1 vs CART specs & performance
Hello,
Please forgive the newbie questions, but here they are: 1) I've been learning more about both F1 and CART (after working through World SBK and MotoGP) and would like to know how CART teams stack up against F1 teams in terms of performance. After reviewing the F1 and CART schedules, it looks like the only track they have in common is Montreal where some comparison times could be gathered. Other than that, does anyone have any idea how much slower the CART machinery is than F1? Have the two series raced at the same circuits in the past where comparisons could be made? Thanks in advance. |

First of all, I don't know of any track that has hosted both F1 and CART (recently). Montreal is a debut event for CART, so it will be the first time, with the modern iterations of the cars, that a true comparison can be made.
(Opinions of) the differences of performance, between the two formulae, were discussed on this thread: http://tentenths.com/forum/showthrea...threadid=20616 As for the specs, these links will take you to web pages, where you can D/L .pdf's of the technical regs for the 2 series: F1: http://www.fia.com/regle/regtec_a.htm CART: http://www.cart.com/About/CART.asp |
