XxREDxX should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
U design it, I will build it Contest.

I have the land for a race car track. All I need know is a design. I'm wondering how active this site is, and would there be people willing to submit there designs? Of course if chosen u will be given full recognition as the designer, and have a part in the naming of the track, u would definately be able to drive it any time u wanted. Let me know if ur interested. If there is a good amount of interest, I will give u info on the proposed race track site (size wise and terrian wise and any other info u request u feel necessary), and what I would like to be included in the design, so u can get started on ur designs. Thank You

I´m very interested about this and I´m sure that others are also. It sounds awesome that a track designed in here will get built in real life. I´d love to hear more about this project.

I've asked people on three other fora to come and try their luck. I hope this will be big.

Sorry for bringing this up... Having a say in naming the place, riding it any time... Great. But... Do i gather you would use the design for free?

What's the problem. You get recognition and can use it on your Curriculum Vitae. You don't get any money for your others design either.

Maybe, XxREDxX, you could provide a small part of the company to the winner. 1 percent or so.

I'm very interested. In fact, I joint this forum because of this thread.

But then I checked out some of the designs you regulars already did, and I realized I'm absolutely without a chance. I really can learn a lot around here. Starting of with learning how to use good software.

XxREDxX, please give as much info as possible. Everything from budget to purpose, what kind of vehicles, the more the better.

You have no less of a chance of winning Alexander. The only person we know without a chance of winning this is called Herman Tilke.

True, Tilke would win hands down, unless RED wants an exciting track with less than three hairpins

But I would be useful for me to learn to work with some of the software mentioned elsewhere in this forum. Paint is a bit pixelly and rough. I'll try to look into it the next few days.

Secret Location don't tell anyone. jk

The Tracks location will be in Sacramento, California USA
Which is East of Infineon Raceway about an 1 1/2hr away, and Noth East of Laguna Seca about 2 1/2hr away. Figured i'd give a little info to keep ur interest. I hope this dream can become a reality. I know tracks don't get built overnight and I'm ready for the long haul. Looking forward to this experience with u guys.

I usualy use Paint.net. It's free and vey user friendly. Sketchup is another thing I've started using recently. It's great modeling software and
incredibly user friendly. It took me only a week to build my first track.

Oh, I'll be needing more information on this track. Sacramento isn't exact enough. I'll be needing coordinates and an outline of the land in Google Earth.

Any chance you could get some images of this location? Then we can see any changes in undulations etc

I'm not sure I understand. We're not allowed information for a location we're ment to be designing a track for..?!

I'm very interested but i'm just a little easily confused, perhaps? Be nice to know what it'd be used for etc Because obviously as "designers", we like to play to the strengths of the particular vehicle that'll be used on this track.

Exciting stuff, nonetheless!

Selby

Hi,
I didn't ask this for my own interest - I'm not going to submit a design. Not because I'm not interested - the heck I am. But I'm not a qualified designer. I know nothing of a lot of very important things I should. And, whilst designing imaginary tracks that we know well never gonna be built is simply fun - but to design a track tjhat's gonna be put to reality is a wholly different matter. Where people can get hurt because of my lack of knowledge...
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the submitted works in the other thread and I'm pretty sure most of you are gonna come up with really good ones. And that's why i asked what i asked.

A good point that one.

Also it's a good point at which to close this introductory thread.
