Just tried tghe GT5 demo

I cna honestly say I have never played such utter and complete tripe in all my life!!

Coming from the kind of people who have redefined the console racing sim genre this is ALL about visuals and NOTHING about game play.

The car slides abotu in a way that games used to on a SPectrum and the controls have all the subtlety of a cow in a teashop

Complete, utter, selfish, incomprehensible, utterly inconsequential tripe

You protest too much.

Rfactor and GTR2 are starting to look and feel dated, I'm suprised you even think GT5D looks good, the general concensus is it's been heavily compressed to facilitate a small download and is missing a whole host of features such as damage, weather and day/night effects, head tracking etc.

The demo was a Nissan promotion and used to test the new professional physics model, which is getting very favourable feedback.

I keep forgetting about the Playstation Store, I'm too used to my Xbox!

I downloaded it and gave it a go, but I don't think I will be buying it any time soon. I realise its only a demo and you only get a fraction of the options but I couldn't get on with the manual gearshifting in the game. It kept disengaging the clutch as I went into the corners and its all a bit too twitchy to me.

The visuals were pretty good though and the wet weather effects were some of the best I've seen.

GT5 Demo will be the next to try!

I already have a decent PC, with Rfactor, GTR, GTR2, GTL, LFS etc. Since I have acquired a PS3 for other purposes I thought I would try and broaden my horizons and was just wondering if there was anything decent for it.

There doesn't seem to be that much by the looks of it.

All the decent console stuff appears to only be on the 360.
