I for one will be there tomorrow. I went to the last winter series and most of the british rounds last year, all superb! I have been a long term rallycross fan since my dad competed in the 70`s. I really think rallycross needs us fans to hang in there, the sport is coming good again. It is a shame there is not a lot of money about at the moment but rallycross still represents excellent value for money. I really hope to be able to compete soon since i have given up 2 wheel racing and hope to add to the entries. In the meantime let us not moan about every event`s entry list.

How the lads and lasses in orange stood it I don't know. Young Paige has inherited bucket loads of the Bellerby driving genes, she is a champion of the future. More spectators than I had expected so well done LHMC for getting message out to the public. Can't wait for Easter Last edited by Spectator; 6 Mar 2010 at 20:13. Reason: typo |

The wind was a bit biting, but it managed to blow the Chessons dust away from us towards the poor folk on post 3!
2 first timers in the juniors -hope both of you develop (and enjoy) as the year progresses, good to see a bit of a challenge to Brad on occasions. BertMk2 - enjoyed the last heat most of all, but you can never have too much tail out rwd entertainment minicross was good to see back & I was surprised to see the suzuki so nippy - much better showing than the Mallory event last year where swift didn't seem the right description - be good to see a few up against each other later in the year Thank you to LHMC for the offer of Burger & a cuppa for lunch - we stayed put in the car with the heater on, but if we'd known I'd have packed a bit less of our own grub and made the most of the gesture. roll on the next fix ..... |

So Pauwels did Lydden yesterday and is busy racing at the Duivelsberg Circuit today for round one of the Belgium Championship.
Hopefully he will consider doing back to back meetings at Easter at Lydden, with Belgium on the Sunday and British on Monday. |

Good days rallycross I thought despite the ridiculously cold wind
Martin did well with the Escort I thought, won a heat and finishing 4th in the 'A' final was more than we realistically expected. The car wasn't handling right all day as the car was running more ground clearance than normal and that threw all the front settings out on the suspension. Also the tyres were the odds 'n sods that were past running on a rally - one of them let go causing the slide into the course markers at the chicane. There's a bit of work to do to the drivers door! Anyway, first batch of pictures (including evidence of why Martin shouldn't be allowed out on his own ) |

Anyone know Godfrey had his 2.0L engine in at the weekend? The thing looked rapid, so would be surprised if it was the 1.6L...
Other than that, great day out and really good teaser for Bank Holiday Monday, looking forward to it already. |

I thought it was a 2 litre in this weekend - certainly there was something about his car not being in super 1600 spec on the comentary. It was certainly very very quick wasn't it? Anyone know if that's the engine he'll be using in UK events this year or was it just a one off?

It was the two litre, with a new gearbox. He started using the two litre engine in the middle of last year in Britain and kept using the 1600 in europe.

By the way, surprised no-one else has mentioned it, I thought James Coney did fantastically well for his first outing in the stock hatch, especially in the Final. It was completely unfair that he got spun out by Gordon Rodgers (who shouldnt have been in that category) and made him go from a certain win to 5th. I hope that gets looked into, cos that was so unjust.

I couldnt agree more Hickey it was a superb performance and i told him so in the paddock after the race. Considering it was his first ever race meeting he did a superb job and i think could be one to watch out for, especially his pace off the line.
The move that disposed him definately needs looking in to Simon |

As a boy in orange on post 5, just wanted to say that the racing was fantastic, especially the finals. Well done to everyone who turned out, made my 200+ mile round trip more than worth it.
Blindin to see the Minicross back, and enjoyed the RXs too, and agree with the comments re the stock hatch final, although my view wasnt the best. Roll on the Easter Weekend, and the ERC...... |

I think we need to be careful – things like this are never as clear cut as they seem from an outside perspective. I'm not accusing or defending anyone, just saying that it can be difficult to tell exactly what's going on from the spectator banks. |

Also to the spectators cheering (or booing) us on (or off), thanks for braving the cold. You're all appreciated by the drivers (comments about having too much to eat before the finals or even pointing out where the throttle pedal is notwithstanding... you know who you are). |
