Joey Foster in 2010
Just the usual question at this time of year, after winning a title at long last does anyone have any ideas where he will end up next year, Japanese F3, F2 maybe?

I understand his target is to get a seat in GP3 next year.

I understand his target to be anywhere that he does not need to bring much budget.. I imagine GP3 is the target of a lot of drivers hoping to get drivers in one of the 27 seats when, teams realise that they will not fill their seats and have to offer them at subsidised levels.

As every January, many driver look for work, Joey inclusive, and his record of getting a drive is very good. But it is time that he gets a top drive in a good series, because he brings much to a team technical and experience, and is quick too.

Agreed, But there are a lot of drivers like that, and unfortunately it still costs a lot to run a racing cars, and teams are about "tying to make money" and not make a loss.

There are really only two solutions. The first is for a miracle to happen and for a team to pick up a sponsor so that they could afford to run Joey. The second, and I'm afraid it doesn't apply to Joey, is for a team to pick up drivers who have been paid for by the likes of Red Bull and Racing Steps and even that isn't the complete answer, because whilst Red Bull might provide you with a driver who will win you a Chapionship (e.g. Alguersuari and Ricciardo), they say how much they will pay and it doesn't leave much margin, if any, for profit. |

It seems as though he is looking at GP3, i am a bit suprised by that, i would have though F2 would have been a more realistic target, any idea what sort of budget he needs to get together, pretty sure it said £600,000 for a season of GP3 in another thread which seems an awfully large amount, what does a season of F2 cost?, at least Joey is still looking at single seaters though.

Yes, and I know too what is the story behind this, someone maybe from team needs to be very careful.
