I think in the case of Manor and Carlin surely GP3 was the main reason they left F3ES, and British F3 has been the beneficiary (as you say Carlin extending to 6 cars plus Manor using two of their cars by combining with CF Racing).

Wasn't there some speculation of them inviting Italian F3 cars over? Surely they need to do something, even if it's like IFM did in their final season by having the series run some extra cars to boost the grids (though I think that was only for the F1 supports with mandatory minimum grid numbers), or create some kind of invitational class.

There was an invitation according to the Italian websites but why would Italian F3 teams ever bother to enter as B class grid filler?

i think it's exactly the same motivation that makes a driver and his management choose the euroseries over a national based series - the dtm exposure, attendance, tv coverage and it's a good opportunity to stick a toe in the scene and get a grasp of the politics for the following years racing. nobody seriously guests in a series expecting to win unless they're art gp

I still think that instead of having a Euro Series for F3 they should concentrate on a 3 round European super series open to all national F3 series in Europe consisting of the Masters of F3, a race at Pau and perhaps a round at Monza. I know there are always tire issues, spec chassis issues, etc. but really, the Euro Series is a shadow of itself these days and GP3 has stolen a lot of its thunder.

i think come next season the euroseries will be back. there's always a peak in the first year of a series, then once word gets around about the downsides everyone reverts to their original plans and ideas.

What about the European F3 Open? Now that they are partnering with the Auto GP, the calendar could easily get less Iberian.

Of course Mercedes & VW must work on resolving some of the issues that made Prema and the likes leave. |

I have seen the website of F3 Euro, the entry list has added 3 more cars.
Gutierrez (ART) (F308) Eriksson/Da Silva (Motopark) (F305) Will there more entries in the upcoming races? |

I've just looked at the calendars of F3 Euro Series , ATS f3 and Italia F3, and I found something interesting: there's no clashes between the three series. I think is it possible to invite both ATS and Italia to participate the series ? (One-off is ok.)
Also, I can't wait for F3 Masters and Spa. |

Didn't this week's Autosport say something along the lines of older cars will be invited to join at various rounds? I think there was some suggestion that British F3 teams could conceivably enter National class cars in the Brands round... but I only skim-read it in the newsagent, so don't quote me on this!
