Formula Blue advice?
Hey!
First post... well, I'm 14 yo, wanted a kart for ages, and finally able to get one. I've decided that Formula Blue is the best class for me, having attended race meetings and talked to drivers. I'd just like to know if there is anything I should keep in mind when buying a second hand Formula Blue engine and a chassis (e.g bends in the chassis). I have heard something about being careful what bore an engine is on or something... could someone explain that? Also, if anyone knows about someone selling their kart/engine, I'd be interested to hear! Thanks in advance |

Best person to speak to is Ron down at Tabor, you have to be careful to buy one with the correct electronics etc - what sort of chassis are you looking to buy, whats your budget and where are you in the country?
Welcome btw |

Yes, I spoke to Ron at Llandow last month I think it was. He was the one who taught me about F. Blue... before that TKM sounded the best for me.
I'd buy pretty much any chassis as long as its not too old and has no problems, though if possible I'd stay away from Maranello's (have been told they don't suit smooth style driving - which is how I drive). My budget... probably up to about £1500, I don't have loads of cash to throw around unfortunately! I'm around the Cardiff area, but will travel a bit to get to a good kart/engine. |

Well I'd say keep an eye on the classifieds section of karting.co.uk or speak to Ron again - he should have something for £1500. I do know someone selling a Mac Minarelli with an engine that needs a rebuild and the new electronics for £500 but not sure if thats an avenue you would want to go down?
