I'm told that Spies may have the works bike. He has privy to the set up of Rossi's bike and Lorenzo's bike and gets to choose which of those set ups to use. It sure looked like he had works performance in England, so I suspect he is at least getting the motors. With the engine limit rule, Rossi isn't going to have any slow motors, and may have a few extra, given that he's used his "slow" motors in the earlier races, and will miss at least 3 races. For sure, the replacement isn't going to get the "good stuff".

Rossi is going to test a Yamaha superbike today at Misano to gauge his fitness. I must say that's impressive considering it has only been one month. Supposedly the team will release a statement later today.

Last report I saw had Rossi at the track around 5pm local time. Getting differeing reports on whether the bike has Pirelli or Bridgestone rubber.

The press release said his best lap was a 1:38.200...
Fastest lap of the recent race at Misano was Cal Crutchlow with a 1:36.546. The slow guys were running mid 38's. So I'd say he did pretty well! Amazing. |

Rossi did a 1:59.135 in cooler conditions. But dang! Fastest lap of the race was Cal Crutchlow (race 2) with a 1:59.291...
