Hasn't Webber said his life is in Europe once he retires anyway?
The article doesn't quote Webber at all, all it has is Dean Fiore being hopeful... |

I can't imagine Webber racing V8's in the foreseeable future..
I'm sure he could land a plum Sportscar drive if he still wants to race after he retires (hopefully as a world champion) |

With a comment like 'throw him the keys' I wonder if fiore has actually been in a supercar before....

LOL, Mark has no interest in racing V8Supercars. He may have a drive of Fiore's car, but it's no "test".

Dean would love it as everyone will be watching and taking photos of his car and his sponsors. For that exposure alone why wouldn't you offer it up.

Yeah, no much of a story there yet.
I reckon Webber will stay in the UK after he retires from F1, he's settled up there with the pub etc and could get a great gig with Peugeot/Audi etc to do 3-4 sportscar events per year for $$$,$$$. Throw in a few corporate motivation days and whatnot and you're sweet. |

Shame to see people throwing his name around for a bit of publicity. Potsie aint rushing back to race in the V8s-he might do something when he's enjoyed himself in what the rest of the world offers but not before then. |

V8supercars would be a massive letdown after piloting an RB6

our last world champion managed it quite well for a number of year, depends if he wants to come back to Australia or just hang around in Europe

After the dull routine of London, Paris and Monaco, you reckon he'd be in a huge rush to return to the glamour of Queanbeyan

Different eras back then, no doubt they were as successful, but with $$ being such a player these days, the relative wealth of the guys is night and day. I dare say AJ and WG also did okay in Touring Cars, but never covered themselves in glory despite being world champions in their respective disciplines.
Mark's already made more than several lifetime's worth of salary, so he'll kick back and enjoy it whilst helping others try to achieve their dreams via his GP3 team (Mitch Evans likely to drive for MW Arden in GP3 in 2011). |

That story wasn't jumping to a conclusion, it was making a Grand Canyon-esque leap.

I could be wrong but I suspect Webber is one of those guys that will stay in the sport in Europe in a management or PR role perhaps after flogging the DTM or something. I don't think he is too keen on Le Mans again from what I heard.
