Britcar Thanks to the Marshals

I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of all the staff at Britcar to extend our thanks and gratitude to all the marshals who gave up their hard earned free time last week to look after all the teams and drivers taking part in the 2010 Britcar 24hrs. I know its often said and it can sound a little hollow after a while but none of it would be possible without your dedication and enthusiasm. This year we had an unprecedented number of marshals volunteer for the event and the level of commitment you all showed in atrocious conditions was second to none. We look forward to welcoming you back to the event in the years to come and we will try to order some sunshine for next year...

The Britcar 24 is a must do event on many Marshals calendar. I personally had a great experience at this years event and long may it continue. A race you can watch for 24 hours, nailbiting and fantastic.

Thanks in return for producing such a great event at which to marshal. Sadly my plans were somewhat curtailed for what would have been my first 24hr and in the end I only managed nearly half of the main race. My appetite is well and truly whetted now, though, and as long as there are no unavoidable clashes this will be one of the first ticks on my list for 2011.

It's not just the race that impressed me, but the feeling of inclusion which made a difference. I know marshals are on the whole appreciated, but it's unusual to find an organiser and event so keen to show it. Thank you.
