I know absolutely what you mean. But try telling that to the countless teams that have written off their cars in Le Mans practice sessions. They have not won AND gone home.

Nick, do you happen to know where the Acemco Saleens ended up? I know they were for sale in America for quite a while.

Getting pole for Le Mans and going for the win are 2 very different things, in the grand scheme of things pole means nothing and is certainly not worth wrecking the car over.

To 993carrera, I am afraid I don't know, but I will find out!
To NightStalk3r, I do not agree with you at all...to say pole means nothing especialy at LeMans is ridiculous, are you aware of the prestige and benefits that run off getting pole at LeMans. This was not just a gung ho attempt at pole by a little team with a bad car, we had a car AND driver capable of pole and with a real chance to win our class. I would be interested to know if you have been involved with a team running at LeMans? |

@993carrera and NickH: Both Acemco cars went to K plus K Motorsport and were raced in FIA GT in 2009. One of those cars (031R) was on display in Atlas Team FS livery at their hospitality unit for the 1000 KM of the Hungaroring this season.

Cheers Stranger. I truly miss seeing those cars in ALMS- they were mighty, especially with Johnny Mowlem behind the wheel!

No surprises there-Bouchut has always been a hard charger, if you hire him you certainly get your money's worth!
