Im saying golf GTI mk3 16v but I am biased towards them. Infact even an 8v. Theyre so cheap to buy and easy to work on that you can spend the money you saved on buying it on upgrades!

To be honest, a clio 16v, williams or 172 would probably be the most fun on track for that budget! Id love another one!

The Best Track Day Car

I have driven countless numbers and types of stock cars, some performance-tuned cars and about a couple of true-race cars on trackdays.

In stock format I would strongly recommend the mighty Renault Clio of any recent model. If you have the money you can get the new latest one.

The Clio can easily be under estimated on track days because it is small and copared to other bigger sports cars it looks like a friendly puppy but on the corners it bites like a mad wolf. The twistier it gets, the faster the Clio can move in relation to other cars.

The ways this car takes corners and the feed back it gives to its driver and its supreme is something you need to experience to understand and appreciate. You will adore it.

To sum it up; The Renault Clio drives a mini-Supercar. The best part also you can go out at night with it to the cafe after the track day. Even better you would still enjoy the way back home.

Cheers,
GT-Driver
