Richard B should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The Chain a chart number one?

A friend emailed me the following link. We've probably all downloaded the classic Fleetwood Mac, the iconic theme music to BBC F1 coverage. Couild it be a number 1?

Rumours was one of the biggest-selling albums of all-time. I'd think that anyone who has any interest in owning a copy already has it...

This was a good idea when Killing In The Name Of became christmas number 1. It was a bit of an event and it was sticking it to the commercialisation of the music industry. But it's been done, F1 really has nothing to do with the music industry and no one really has a point to prove, so it won't work.

Love the song though.

It is indeed a fantastic song, but I don't buy into these 'Let's get so-and-so No.1' campaigns.

I was actually listening to Rumours in the car on the way to work this morning. I was drumming the steering wheel like Mick Fleetwood during 'Go Your Own Way'. Ace.

Funnily enough I have been watching the Fleetwood Mac documentaries on BBC 4 recently. Plus listening to Fleetwood Mac's two best albums Rumours and Tango in the Night. As was said earlier Rumours is one of the best selling albums of all time(I think it is the third best selling album of all time). I have an old pre recorded tape of it!(Oh dear showing my age). As for trying to get The Chain to No 1 I don't think it would eligible nowadays. I know they include digital sales in the charts but I don't know if it work. Just enjoy The Chain and the rest of the Rumours album!

Never having seen the BBC F1 coverage, what part of the song do they use (of course I am assuming the opening sequence/credits are not long enough to play the full song!)

It's the last part of the song around 3mins in.

Actually Rumours was good but the earlier FM from 1968/9 was a much better outfit.

Like the last one. The video footage from 1979 shows just how long the song has been used by the Beeb as introductory music for F1. Poor old ITV never stood a chance!

I liked some of the ITV jingles tbh, but obviously they would never, ever measure up...
