It seems good news and hopefully he will be alright to ride again in 2011, but for now just to be alive is what we all wanted.

Improving, no serious physical injuries, however little worry about possible brain damage, it seems he will be okay hopefully he can ride again in 2011 but first of all we just want him to be alive.

He is now recovering well. He has a clot in his brain which is taking the medication well and recovering all the time. He Has bruised hands and left eye, that will go away over time. He is now out of ICU and is due to stay in hospital for at least 3-4 weeks to fully recover. Great news.

latest report from the teams website (2 days ago) says 40% of the blood clot in his brain has been reduced and his recovering all the time. Took his first footsteps and now can walk on his own. The team already planning him to be out of hospital fully recovered by mid January - right when he can start getting ready for 2011.

geez, just saw this. Yes, he was impressive at times wasnt he? but what a dark period in his life, losing his father to cancer, his friend dying and then recovering from this with the season ahead.
hope he wasnt drinking, it was at 3am.

around christmas time he was discharged from hospital weeks before when he was expected to leave hospital which is awesome. He is now already in a steep rehabilitation period getting ready for the 2011 season. Hes at Stop and Go again continuing their long relationship, this year the team swap to FTR chassis from last years Bimota which quite frankly wasn't good enough, although on a few occasions Ratthapark put it on the front rows and fought for that first podium at assen in that amazing race missing it by less than a tenth. As a fan of his i hope he has a great year!

I didnt see that detail gom,

but makes me think of all the movies and tv shows we see, and as riders, I can't stand seeing Joe Movie Star jumping on his bike and riding off without a helmet and/or not attaching the strap--it bugs the hell out of me for the image it gives young fellers watching.

the States are funny for this as there are a number of individual states (New Hampshire for example) where one does not have to wear a helmet.

Just think of it as Darwinian selection weeding the morons out of society.
