Maybe AON realise now that TOC was a great development driver as well as fast in a race environment.

I found it interesting in one of the stories about this TOC said he had to thank Tom (Chilton) for helping in this deal.

I think everything that needs to be said about Matt Neal's little mishap was said by Matt himself shortly after coming to rest at the Lodge barriers.

Although I can't help wondering who at ITV4 failed to realise that anything picked up by the mic in Neal's cockpit at that particular point was likely to be somewhat stronger than, "Oh dear!".

That's not the first time ITV4 have played something naughty this year I think, I'm sure it happened at a previous round too.

What does it matter really? It wasn't as if it was totally clear, and besides, unless you're a Daily Mail reader, no-one should be offended by it. :P

Totally predictable response, and quite amusing I thought.

In what way? Smith clearly moves over on him.

I'm confused. If the driver on the outside hasn't got a clear path to move across, then surely their only option is to stay outside and go for the switchback at the hairpin.

Heard on the grapevine that Plato might have action taken against him by the stewards for his outbursts!

Agreed. There's a good on-board reply from Neate's car shown a little later in the broadcast. Neate holds his line and Smith moves across into Neate's path.

I thought it was Neate's fault at first, from the live race footage. But it became pretty clear on the replay than it was Smith that moved across.

What amused me was how that blind idiot in the commentary box kept insisting he hit Boardman's driver's door, when you could clearly see it was a left hooker!

Haha, I do have to concede he does seem to make a lot of mistakes. I remember at Donington when Plato rolled, they kept saying that it was the Audi involved, when it was actually Shedden. That was a serious

moment.

Its clear enough from the exterior view that Neate held his line, and Smith moved across.

As Alan Gow said on Tin Top Tuesday last night, there didn't need to be seeing as he DNFed. That's a bad enough penalty anyway.

Neal stopped his team mate from winning but not from finishing, and DNFd himself. Smith DNFd but also caused another competitor (Boardman) to DNF, none of which would have happened if he hadn't been quite so reckless.

Personally I thought Neate should also have been penalised because it looked like he started the whole incident, but apparently I misread his closing down of Smith's line out of the corner. Oh well.
