I managed to pop up there during a 20 min stand down (since we had three flaggies on post) with my camera. Excellent spot.

There were also astro turf problems exiting the final corner at Dijon when DTM was there in 2009.

I just say that they should have a grass verge of some noticeable width before you reach any other run-off surface, especially if it's tarmac.

Also, tracks really should check their run-offs for any ski jumps, like what Vitaly Petrov found at Sepang this year, and Joey Hand found at Mid Ohio about five years ago.

I feel kind of sorry for any Houstonites in here, since it's their sports stadium that originated this abominable green stuff.

I don't think you should be feeling sorry for us. I think we should be apologizing to the racing world and every athlete who has a ruined knee or something caused by Astroturf. Well, maybe we should all blame Monsanto! Maybe the tracks should switch to FieldTurf instead. Just kidding, but it is ironically partially made up of used tires!

so it is a fruitless and dangerous effort to make tracks look like they are located in a green environment....
