Posted here so we can show appreciation for Marshals - Britcar 24Hr Maggots Incident
I think many will have heard about this incident where a marshal was injured in this years Britcar 24Hr.
I'd held off posting this publicaly as a marshal was seriously injured in this incident. Since it has occured I have kept updated on his condition and i'm happy to say he is now receovering well (he had a double leg fracture). I have also sought advice from the marshaling community in general as to whether this video should be posted at all as I did not want to cause any distress to the injured marshal, his team or the marshalling community in general. The consensus was that after a period of time it should be posted. All correct procedures were followed and it was just a freak incident. It does show the danger that these guys put themselves in though in order for us to race. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxxJtBrdADc I posted on the 'racers' forum as I'm sure we'd all wish to pass on our gratitude to these guys and the great work they do so if you'd like to show your appreciation then please click [Like] on the video. Thanks |

I'm glad to be the first to agree. Best wishes to the injured marshal!

Thanks MaxxUK. Interesting video and sensitively handled. You were so cool we ought to recruit you as a marshal.

There is another thread somewhere moaning about the cost of racing and the various folk making money from us drivers. These people put themselves in danger every weekend for us for free. They must be mad but we couldnt run without them. The true heroes of motorsport. Best wishes to all concerned.
