Setup guide...
Hello, I have a simple question...can anyone point me to a website that will break down the functions of the different suspension components, give basic settings for how to set them, attain a proper gear ratio, supply actual #'s for ride height...etc, etc. which can be applied to formula 1 cars? Here's why...I play F1 2001/2 on pc and would like to be able to better set up my car. Rather than go buy a book for 30 or 40$, I'd rather try and find the info I'm looking for on the net for free before I go spend any more money on sim racing. This is a hobby after all. Please note that I have endless respect for people who are knowledgable in technical matters of racing a car and am trying to better understand these principles myself, but right now all I see are numbers with no meaning, and I'd like to learn more about the function of the different components of a race car. Thanks for any help you guys can provide, it's much appreciated.

Phil. Actually the guide that comes with the f1 2001 is very accurate. It is a place to start at any rate. I use the settings given for each track and simply change fuel loads for qualify and race and adjust each gear ratio in testing for each fuel load to maximise revs.
Hope this helps. |
