Wow, does Starworks have the Scott Tucker playbook or something? At least 1 new LMP2, world championship, partial alms, 3 cars in GA, expansion into Conti Tires...

Venezuela Money? Not only Potolicchio's money, but other local companies from South America like Avior Airlines. Also, they may have a more significant relationship with Ford in the future with their new Turbo DP engine.

Yeah, one thing's for sure, it is not all Peter Baron's money! I hope the Venezuelans are legit though, after the Zogaib fiasco.

Doesn't Airbags Duno have a history with Peter Baron? Is there any possible connection there?

Apparently Milka and Peter didn't end their relationship very well, something about a dispute over drive times or something like that. Looking at the sponsors that I assume Enzo brings (Avior, Venezuela Tourism, Duncan) it looks legit. Also, while they have multiple programs, I've noticed every single one is in a cost-effective formula, so despite 3 DPs, 2 Mustangs, and 1 LMP2 (all cost well under 1 Million USD) they probably are spending less money than some privateer LMP1 operations with one or two cars!

Yes she does/did. Might have helped introduce Potolicchio/Popow to Baron, I suppose? Back while she was still driving for SAMAX that is.

Did she drive DPs for Baron during/after their stint together in the IRL? I can't remember. The Venezuela connection does make me wonder if Duno is involved, but it could be a totally different situation.

Way before that... must've been somewhere around 06/07.

I noticed that as well. I also noticed they said it was cheaper to buy a new LMP2 than DPG3. Question is, which is cheaper to run in, GA, ALMS or WEC?

I supposse it depends on the travel fund the ACO has in place for the WEC...

Other than that, I'd guess GA is a bit more expensive to run than ALMS, simply because it has more races, one of them being a 24hour event (with mandatory test days).

The cost-capped P2s and restrictions on all-pro lineups are helping to make that class a very fiscally appealing alternative. Whether these huge fields of Oreca Nissans and Lola Judds make for exciting racing remains to be seen, but it's definitely an interesting time with DPG3 going up-tech a little as P2 is in theory being driven down-tech. Peter and the Venezuelans seem to share an affinity for good deals though, which is great for us as fans. The link-up with UA to run the Audi in the Middle East enduros fits that mold as well. Looking back through Potolicchio's driving experience, he's been involved in motorsport for quite a long time indeed in Venezuela, it's not just a rich man's sudden inspiration to go race.
