MitchZ06 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
First time to Le Mans

I'll be heading over to Le Mans for my first time this year and absolutely can't wait but I've come to a slight problem, I want to stay in a Flexotel while I am there (solid structures with doors hold out theives and rain better than a tent) however as it is just me going I'm less keen on stumping the $2000AUD needed to rent one for just myself.

Is there anyone else going solo interested in sharing one of these rooms for the week?

Sounds expensive if you are on your own. Have you considered camping as the thieving incidents are isolated and its a fraction of the price especially when you add on the air fare from here, just keep anything valuable on you.

You might even find some other forum people have a spare camping spots/tickets come up as inevitably people that say they are going, drop out.....

In my three Le Mans visits, I went camping three times by myself (no car either, my tent and backpack was all I had) and had zero problems. Even when my pitch was next to a main road!

If you'd like extra security, Speed Chills have two secured campsites. They are fenced off and have guards throughout the week. Tertre Rouge is also fenced off. This may be more cost effective!

mnay of the agents now do secure camping, but in general most sites are Ok to leave a certain amount of stuff in, but keep hold of precious items, if you do camp talk to the people around and i am sure that you can sort something out, locking some stuff in their cars etc. Camp and save money for essentials like beer

Im from Sydney, and last year I attended Le Mans.

It was about the half way point in a trip backpacking through Europe.

I stayed in the Travel Destinations camp site. It was amazing, I really cant compliment Travel Destinations enough.

If you have any specific questions dont hesitate to ask

Buy a cheap Pop Up tent, ditto sleeping bag etc., then on arrival, chat to the neighbours. It's surprising how many will hang around the camp site even when the cars are on track! Just don't advertise anything valuable, except maybe the camera, and make that very visible when you go out.
You should then have several 'friends' who know you by sight, and hence that it's NOT you near your tent...
Use the tram to get into Le Mans town, the mini trains to move around the circuit, and relax, and have fun.
