I would be lying if I said that I can understand your point. 2011 was maybe the best Le Mans race of all times, despite the cars having fins.

If that little detail is ruining a mega race for you then I can't help but feel that your focus is on the wrong things.

Spot on.

They're there. I'd rather they weren't, but I suspect that even if I ask very nicely, they're not going to take them off for me.

As to ruining the spectacle - not a bit. If they made the cars go 50 mph slower, then I'd moan....

It's a bit like the DW - I don't particularly care for it's looks, but it's here and I want to see what it does. If the BHF does have some safety application, then who are we to moan about it on aesthetic grounds.....

And if you were to ask people like Allan McNish and Nic Minassian, they'd definitely confirm that the fin has a significant safety application.
